This US Search guide follows the company’s published privacy route. Work through the steps in order, send only the identifiers needed to locate your record, and keep the confirmation until you have checked the result.
Step 1
Start at the company’s own privacy or consumer-rights page.
Find the matching record on US Search, then use its current privacy, removal, or consumer-rights route.
Use the link below rather than a sponsored search result. The page should be on ussearch.com or a clearly identified company privacy portal.
Step 2
Select deletion, suppression, do-not-sell, do-not-share, or marketing opt-out as appropriate.
Choose the option that asks US Search to stop using or disclosing your personal information. If the form offers both deletion and sale/sharing opt-out, submit the request that matches what you want and read the scope before sending it.
Do not select a business-account, vendor, or employment request unless you are contacting the company in that capacity.
Step 3
Make the match easy without handing over more information than the form needs.
Have your full name, current or former location, and any US Search profile URL, customer ID, work history, or email address connected to the record ready.
Save the profile or record URL and have your name, location, phone, age, relatives, or other matching details ready.
Keep a copy of the exact details you submit. They make a later follow-up much easier if the company cannot find the first request.
Check: Never upload a passport, driver’s license, or other identity document unless the company’s privacy page specifically requires it and you are comfortable with that request.
Step 4
Review the scope, then submit it from the company’s form or privacy inbox.
Read the confirmation language before pressing Submit. Check that your request names US Search, describes the record you want removed or suppressed, and uses an inbox you can open.
Take a screenshot of the completed form or copy the confirmation number before leaving the page.
Check: Use a separate email alias when the form accepts one, but keep that inbox active until every verification message arrives.
Step 5
Many privacy requests stay open until you confirm the email or answer an identity check.
US Search may require email confirmation or another record-specific identity check before suppressing the listing.
Open the newest message, check that the link leads to the company’s domain, and complete the action before the link expires.
Check: If the message does not arrive, check spam and promotions, then request one fresh message. Avoid opening several old verification links at once.
Step 6
Treat removal as a follow-up task, not a one-click promise.
Record the submission date, confirmation number, and the original US Search URL or identifier.
Wait About 10–15 minutes to submit; allow several days to several weeks for processing, then search the same name and location in a private browser window. Try one genuine name or location variation if the first search does not find the record.
If the listing is still visible, reply to the confirmation message or use the same privacy route. Include the original reference instead of starting from scratch.
